Wellness is often more complex than we might imagine. We may feel that some areas of our life contribute to a sense of well being while others do not. Wellness has many dimensions which include physical, mental, social, and emotional. Wellness assessment tools are available online. Some of these tools include additional dimensions such as environmental and spiritual wellness.
Personal health often includes many of these dimensions. Feeling unfulfilled in our work or in our relationships often spill over into our physical and mental health. The toxins we are exposed to in our environment have tangible as well as intangible impacts. And feeling a sense of purpose in our life also contributes to health. In the end, aspects of wellness and personal health are deeply interconnected.
So many people I know have been afflicted with cancer of one form or another. I often wonder how much stress played a role. Stress can take so many forms. Feeling like we are trying to please others rather than being true to our own needs and desires causes stress. Living with worry or fear also causes stress. Loss causes stress. Sometimes and unexpected windfall can cause stress. Decreasing your body fat can help decrease stress, and using hCG weight loss techniques can speed this process up
I feel the key to wellness and personal health is being able to cope with stress effectively. Often that is easier said than done, right? But for many of us, three things can make the biggest difference.
First, eat foods that are filled with nutrients. Even if you are trying to lose weight, you can’t go wrong here. Self care begins with what we put in out bodies.
Second, move your body. Go for a walk with the intention to notice things you have not noticed before. Visualize your blood like a river moving through your body, making you feel whole and alive.
Third, share your feelings with someone you trust. The saying that friends double our joy and divide our grief is so true.
Best wishes on your wellness journey.
